House Tours
Strawberry Hill House is internationally renowned as one of the best examples of Georgian Gothic architecture. Enjoy a guided tour of Horace Walpole's architectural masterpiece exploring the history, interiors and stories of its residents.
Tours departs at 10am. Booking is essential. If you are a group of 15 persons or more you may be interested in booking a private guided tour for preferential rates. Please e-mail tours@strawberryhillhouse.org.uk
Please note that re-entry to the House is available to anyone who has booked to go on the House Guided Tour after the tour is finished.

The evenings performance will take place in the Chapel at St Mary's University.
We are delighted to welcome back the wonderful soprano Kirsty Taylor Stokes supported by the Strawberry Hill House Community Choir to present an entertaining evening of Christmas music and festive poetry read by Nigel Roberts. In addition to solos performed by Kirsty, the programme will also feature the very beautiful Evening Prayer from Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel and Rutter’s Angel's Carol. We are also excited to welcome back George de Voil who will once again perform a duet with James Speakman.
British soprano, Kirsty Taylor-Stokes made her Professional debut in the 2012 Season as The Cockerel in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen for Glyndebourne Opera, and has been described by Opera Now as “a really classy full-bodied voice, who sings with spine-tinglingly delicate beauty”
Kirsty studied at Birmingham Conservatoire (BMus hons) and then at The Royal Academy of Music (MMus, Dip Ram). Following her debut, she went on to sing several other roles and covers for Glyndebourne Festival including First Nymph in Dvořák‘s Rusalka, Female Chorus in Britten’s Rape of Lucretia, and Mimi for Glyndebourne’s Education programme. Other appearances include covering Mimi for Grange Park Opera, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin for Garsington Opera, singing Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro for Garsington’s Alvarez programme in the UK and Corfu, Vrenchen in Delius’ A Village Romeo & Juliette at Cadogan Hall and Cio Cio San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly across France and the UK for Opera Loki.
Most recently Kirsty made two exciting role debut’s singing Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Minack Theatre, and Tosca for Opera Loki to great critical acclaim. A regular performer of Leider.

Christmas Wreath Making

Join Lilian from Lilian's Flowers and sustainable flower farmer Char Johnston to make a natural woodland Christmas wreath embellished with hand dried flowers.
In this hands-on workshop Lilian will take you through the steps of creating a natural, moss-covered wreath ring, using seasonal winter foliage, branches, seed heads & pods with flowers to create texture, colour and interest.
All of the botanicals will be sustainably sourced and the wreath will be completely compostable.

As night falls, explore Horace Walpole’s enchanting Gothic castle by candlelight, just as he envisioned it. Wander freely through shadowy corridors and chambers at your own pace—the very spaces that inspired Walpole to write The Castle of Otranto, the first Gothic novel.
This year, the beauty of the season extends further, as the magic from the curators of the Flower Festival fills three select chambers with breathtaking tablescapes, alongside stunningly decorated Christmas trees and ornaments placed throughout the house.
